I was introduced the other day to “Premier Assistive Technology” (Premier) by a Learning Support Teacher in Calgary. Since then, I’ve been looking into what this software package has to offer. We are currently working with Read & Write Gold (RWG), but this software has been proving to be unreliable. So much so, that teachers and students are avoiding using the RWG. This is really unfortunate because it does have the potential to be a really great resource for all students.
Premier offers a number of different assistive tools just like RWG. The tools include those to assist with reading, writing and studying.
In the Reading Tab of Premier, you’ll see the following tools:
The Writing Tab offers the following tools:
The Studying Tab has these tools:
Utilities Tab has the following tools:
All four sets of tools share a lot of common tools – some though, are unique. Stay tuned as I will be providing a critique of this software at a later date.
